The WEA is one of the largest providers of adult learning in the North West. Thousands of students are taking part in WEA courses in their own communities. Great teachers change lives. Our teachers inspire, advise and expand the horizons of our students in a co-operative friendly atmosphere. Are you interested in proposing a course or applying to become a teacher? Our mission is to promote education as an essential part in achieving a free, fair and progressive world. Our members are actively participating toward fulfilling that mission. We are very proud to announce that one of our NW region tutors has won the prestigous 2008/09 Olive Cordell WEA Skills for Life Tutor of the Year award! As part of our ongoing web development we are inviting everyone to give us their suggestions for information they would like to access on this website. On Monday 23rd March the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills published its response to the Informal Adult Learning Consultation. The BBC launches its ambitious, interactive adult basic skills website… Got the hump with teaching?
